Stained Glass Windows

falling colors—
the kaleidoscope
turns 'round and 'round

the way the light breaks
on the oil slick on the canal

the painter's palette—
catching the sunset
a pink, red, orange sky

in the cathedral
the stained glass windows
sparkle and glow

leaf to leaf. . . a chameleon
changing on each landing

one end
on each side of the river:
a rainbow

Somersaulting

arf! arf! arf!
the old dog
chases his tail

the stagecoach arrives
wheels turning backwards

heels over head
somersaulting
across the lawn

all sorts of cries
the merry-go-round goes
faster and faster

wow! her skirt gets caught
in the revolving door

summer time
moving the hands of the clock
one hour ahead
