Haiku

night beach
just the curve
of the sea foam

September dawn—
above the school road
the wedge of cranes

a flutter of pigeons…
the shadow of a stone angel
unfurls its wings

sky clears up
in all the puddles
the same blue

starry night
on the site of a ruin
the frost sparkles

a glass fair
in every vase
different sun

after chemo
I don't notice the rust
on my son's swing
