Shapeshifting

dreaming **Sarasvati...four arms embrace me
the touch of musical strings I sink further
into a stream of silk the river flows
through the sky Aditya on his chariot
floating I ride the shapeshifting clouds
on an elephant the mahout fades into mist
kirtan did I wake to deeper sleep?
ha! and rising from that nothingness into . . .

A *Soignenga is a linked poem consisting of 8 one-liners. The theme is dreaming. The Soignenga may be done solo or with partners. The Soignenga was created by Alexis K. Rotella on the 21 March 1997.
