Deborah P Kolodji

autumn loneliness
as the colors burn
trees around me
my cabin plain,
the world so orange

elfin teacups
scattered by the trail
we skirt a meadow
suddenly emptied
of birds

the wind
waves a spell
with sagebrush
yellow wands beckon us
further

old keys
for places I've been

sometimes
I time travel
in my heart
