Deborah P Kolodji, US

Cinquain

Remington

Stuck keys
break the rhythm
pounded on heavy keys

The smell of the ribbon
I type
his name.

Tanka

autumn loneliness
as the colors burn
trees around me
my cabin plain,
the world so orange

elfin teacups
scattered by the trail
we skirt a meadow
suddenly emptied
of birds

the wind
waves a spell
with sagebrush
yellow wands beckon us
further

old keys
for places I've been

sometimes
I time travel
in my heart

Haiku Sequence

Seasons of a Graveyard

wildflower bouquet
the soft turned earth
of a fresh grave

bees browse
the funeral potted plants
her absent smile

marigolds
we trace her name,
hear her echoes

too cold to dig
too cold for ghosts
only snow
tombstones
