The fall of the
leaves
in between them small acorns lay
ready for next Spring
squirrels race between trees
preparing for the first frost
The Autumn cool rain
softens the crunch of dead leaves
he comes silently
apples ripen
the sweet, dimpled smile
of a harvest maid
ripe October grapes
oak barrels hold the nectar
a heady toast...
this year's vintage made
for a June wedding
A note on the
composition of this rengay
We started the
thought process on this with Angelika's 1st verse, and quickly
saw a romance blossom with future events in store. The last
verse was a collaboration of Angelika's idea set to prose by
Michele. Hope you enjoy our little adventure. We did.
