October Kukai Ballot
 

 

 

"cold night" or "night chill" October 2007 Kukai

The editors of Sketchbook invite all readers to participate in the haiku kukai on the "cold night" or "night chill" poems for October. The twenty-three poems entered in the contest are numbered and printed without author names. 

A kukai is an anonymous vote by all eligible voters to determine which poems the haiku readers view as the most significant poems in the groupin this case the "cold night" or "night chill" haiku.

Voters should select the poems which represent the best haiku written with the kigo "cold night" or "night chill".  The exact kigo words should appear in the haiku.

Read the poems and enjoy them. Then take time to send the editors your vote. Voting directions appear below the haiku.

Above is the Sketchbook ballot for the October 2007 "cold night" or "night Chill" Kukai

 Please NOTE that the votes should come to daleidenj@yahoo.com

 1. All the entries are listed above by number without author names.

2. Any reader of Sketchbook is eligible to vote, whether or not they have entered haiku in the kukai or not.

3. Email your votes to: daleidenj@yahoo.com  When voting, please use the words cold night kukai ballot in the subject line of your e-mail. (Please do not post your votes to a public list).

4. Each voter has SIX (6) points to use; voters may distribute the points in increments of 1, 2, or 3. Please do not cast more than 3 points for any single poem.

5. If you are the author of one of these haiku, please do not vote for your own poem(s). Any such votes will be disqualified.

6. Please use the following format to submit your votes (listing by numerical order, rather than order of preference, as the sample below):

Remember, no more than a total of 6 points can be submitted per voter.

7. All votes will be compiled and the results will then be published in the November Sketchbook listed with votes received and poets' names revealed. The votes will appear as per the following sample:

 Vote Count example: 027 = 11

 Which means:

No voter gave 3 points, 2 voters gave 2 points, 7 voters gave 1 point = for a total of 11 points
