Sketchbook

Gerry Bravi, CA

Haiku

fist full of tulips
how brief their blooming
how broad his smile

spring buds
tightly wound hints
of things to come

new beginnings
yet utterly complete
spring buds

spring dawn
the towering poplars
cast thin shadows

everything stirs
except the dead branches
whispers of spring

spring walk
from puddle to puddle
the peepers converse

tomato seeds
roots, stalks, leaves, blossoms and fruit
all waiting inside

March roars in
cherry blossoms blown here and there
their essence remains

ragged feathers
scattered on melting snow
a redpoll lost
