The Next One Thousand Years by Cid Corman

A new selection of Cid Corman's Poetry to be published  in April, 2008.

"Longhouse Publishers is about to release an important new selection of poems by the prolific Cid Corman, who passed away in 2004. The Next One Thousand Years, Selected Poems of Cid Corman is edited Ce Rosenow and Bob Arnold, have done a beautiful job of gathering poems that represent the prolific Corman at his best—and at his best, Corman produced powerful, sleek, transparent poems that make us feel we're witnessing fresh realizations as they come into being.

Since you won't find Corman listed on The Academy of American Poets web site (where you will find a meaty listing for Billy Collins and many others not nearly as accomplished as Corman), the editors have kindly provided this thumbnail sketch:" *

"Cid Corman was one of the most prolific and influential poets, editors, publishers, and translators of 20th century American poetry. His published works number in the hundreds. As the editor of Origin and the publisher of Origin Press, he was one of the first to publish important poets such as Robert Creeley, Denise Levertov, and Gary Snyder. His translations of poems from languages including French, German, and Japanese have circulated in many collections. The Next One Thousand Years gathers together poems and translations from Corman's published works, including those from many rare and out of print editions. It also includes poems from the final two unpublished volumes of OF and from another recently discovered unpublished manuscript."
