Pancakes

Drool
with me,
Mum’s pancakes
waft golden warmth
as their smell tickles
and teases my taste buds.
I’ll have sweet sugar crystals
and squeezed lemon citrus to mix
or butter with thick honey from hives
oozing and squished out like honeysuckle.

I know, these honey pancakes can be shared
if Winnie the Pooh comes for breakfast
and piglet can bring his balloon;
he’ll be too surprised to eat!
My pancake party with
Winnie the Pooh’s friends,
that’s what we’ll do.
Mum can I
please ‘phone
Pooh!!
