Gutter Kids

We rode the black clouds
and thunder bolts with glee
as the rivers were born anew
frantic rain drops stampeding

the gutters to flee
pirating ghost ships of any breed
baring our feet we stormed the street
racing along with the river crafts

shooting the rapids from
launching pad to river’s edge
picnicking on a rainy day
three happy gutter kids
